32nd Tokyo International Film Festival

As the warm autumn has arrived in Tokyo, all film lovers are in anticipation of this year's Tokyo International Film Festival which will take place from 28th October to 5th November. Main venues in Tokyo will be Roppongi Hills, EX Theater Roppongi and Hibiya Step Square.

On 26th September was held a press conference where the lineup and jury members for this year's 32nd edition of the festival were announced. 14 films from 115 countries were selected in the competition section. Actress ZHANG Ziyi (China) will serve as Jury President, alongside producer Bill GERBER (USA), actor and producer Julie GAYET (France), director Michael NOER (Denmark), and director Ryuichi HIROKI (Japan).

The opening Film will be " Tora-san, Wish You Were Here" by director Yoji Yamada and featuring as main cast Chieko Baisho, Hidetaka Yoshioka, Kumiko Goto, Gin Maeda, Mari Natsuki, Ruriko Asaoka.

The 32nd TIFF Gala Screening Event, that includes Red Carpet Ceremony and Stage Appearance, is scheduled for 31st October (Thu). TIFF will present the world premiere of Japanese film "Talking the Pictures" directed by Masayuki Suo who will appear on the red carpet and stage together with the main cast, actors Ryo Narita, Yuina Kuroshima, Eri Watanabe, Fumiyo Kohinata, Yutaka Takenouchi.

On 27th October (Sun), the Opening Eve Screening will feature “The 47 Rōnin in Debt” directed by Yoshihiro Nakamura. The event will be held at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills and will mark the movie's world premiere. Release date in Japan: 22nd November .
